The Term 1 Examination Materials for Key Stage 2 learners in Grades 4–6 are prepared to help teachers measure the knowledge, skills, and competencies developed during the first term. The assessment framework follows the provisions of DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026, which provides the revised guidelines on classroom assessment under the three-term school calendar.
For Key Stage 2, the examinations are intended to provide a broader measure of learner achievement by assessing both recently taught competencies and important learning from the earlier part of the term.
Coverage of the Term 1 Examination
The tests primarily cover the competencies taught during Weeks 7–11 of Term 1. They also include selected critical competencies from the previous weeks that learners are expected to retain and apply.
The examination coverage is based on the Term 1 Budget of Work (BOW) and the actual lessons taught in the classroom. This helps ensure that the assessment remains connected to the competencies learners have already encountered during instruction.
40 Items for Grades 4–6
Each subject examination in these Key Stage 2 materials contains 40 multiple-choice items:
Grade 4 – 40 items per subject
Grade 5 – 40 items per subject
Grade 6 – 40 items per subject
The questions are developed using Bloom’s Taxonomy as a guide, providing opportunities for learners to demonstrate different levels of thinking, including remembering, understanding, applying, and analyzing concepts appropriate to their grade level.
In accordance with DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026, teachers should ensure that assessment is aligned with the competencies actually taught and appropriate to the needs and developmental level of learners. The 40-item format is the structure adopted for these DepEdClick examination materials and may be adjusted by teachers when necessary.
Teachers are encouraged to carefully review the examination before administration and make appropriate revisions based on their accomplished lessons, class pacing, learner readiness, and school context.
