The Grade 5 Term 1 Examination Materials are prepared to measure learners’ understanding of the competencies developed throughout the first term. The assessment gives particular attention to the lessons completed during Weeks 7–11, while also including selected critical competencies from the earlier weeks of Term 1.
The examination coverage is aligned with the Term 1 Budget of Work and the actual lessons taught in the classroom. This helps ensure that the test content reflects the knowledge and skills learners were expected to acquire during the term.
40-Item Multiple-Choice Examination
Each Grade 5 subject examination consists of 40 multiple-choice items. The questions are developed using Bloom’s Taxonomy as a guide, allowing the assessment to cover different levels of thinking such as remembering, understanding, applying, and analyzing concepts appropriate for Grade 5 learners.
These materials may be used as a convenient reference for teachers in preparing their Term 1 assessment. However, teachers should still consider their class pacing, completed competencies, and learners’ readiness before administering the examination.
