TERM 1 EXAMINATIONS With TOS | ALL GRADE LEVELS (SY 2026-2027)

The Term 1 Examination Materials for Grades 1 to 12 are prepared to support teachers in assessing learners’ achievement across all four key stages of basic education. These materials are developed in accordance with the assessment principles under DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026, officially titled Revised Guidelines on Classroom Assessment, Grading System, and Awards and Recognition for the K to 12 Basic Education Program.

Rather than focusing solely on the most recent lessons, the examinations are designed to measure both current learning and the retention of essential competencies developed earlier in the term.

Examination Coverage

The Term 1 examinations primarily cover the learning competencies taught during Weeks 7–11, together with selected critical competencies from the previous parts of Term 1.

The test coverage is aligned with the Term 1 Budget of Work (BOW) and the actual lessons taught in the classroom. Teachers should therefore ensure that the competencies included in the examination correspond with the lessons their learners have already completed.

Number of Items per Key Stage

For these DepEdClick Term 1 Examination Materials, the number of multiple-choice questions increases according to the grade level and key stage:

These item counts are the assessment format adopted by DepEdClick for these materials and should not be interpreted as a fixed number of examination questions prescribed by DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026.

Developed Using Bloom’s Taxonomy

The examination questions are prepared using Bloom’s Taxonomy as a guide in developing items with different levels of cognitive demand. Depending on the grade level and competency, learners may be asked to remember, understand, apply, analyze, and evaluate concepts and situations.

For younger learners, greater emphasis is placed on foundational understanding and appropriate application, while examinations for higher grade levels progressively include questions requiring deeper analysis and higher-order thinking.

In Accordance with DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026

DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026, issued on June 4, 2026, established the revised guidelines governing classroom assessment, grading, and learner recognition across the K to 12 Basic Education Program.

In keeping with these guidelines, assessment should remain connected to the competencies learners have actually been taught. For this reason, teachers are encouraged to use these Term 1 examinations as adaptable assessment materials rather than rigid, one-size-fits-all tests.

Items may be revised, replaced, or removed when necessary to match the accomplished lessons, class pacing, learner readiness, and specific school context.
