The Term 1 Examination Materials for Key Stage 4 learners in Grades 11 and 12 are prepared to support Senior High School teachers in assessing the competencies developed during the first term. The assessment approach is guided by DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026, or the Revised Guidelines on Classroom Assessment, Grading System, and Awards and Recognition for the K to 12 Basic Education Program.
Coverage of the Examination
These examinations primarily cover the learning competencies taught during Weeks 7–11 of Term 1. Selected critical competencies from the earlier weeks of the term are also incorporated to assess learners’ retention and their ability to connect previous learning with more recently developed knowledge and skills.
The examination coverage is aligned with the Term 1 Budget of Work (BOW) and the actual lessons taught in the classroom. This helps ensure that assessment remains closely connected to the learning experiences and competencies completed by Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners.
60-Item Multiple-Choice Examinations
For these DepEdClick materials, each subject examination contains 60 multiple-choice items:
Grade 11 – 60 items per subject
Grade 12 – 60 items per subject
The questions are developed using Bloom’s Taxonomy as a guide, allowing the examinations to measure different levels of cognitive skills. Aside from remembering and understanding concepts, appropriate questions may require learners to apply knowledge, analyze information, evaluate situations, and demonstrate higher-order thinking skills expected at the Senior High School level.
The 60-item format is the structure adopted by DepEdClick for these examination materials and should not be interpreted as a fixed number of items prescribed by DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026. The Order establishes the revised framework for classroom assessment across the K to 12 Basic Education Program.
Teachers should therefore exercise professional judgment by checking whether the competencies included in the examination were actually taught and whether the questions are appropriate for their learners. Necessary revisions may be made depending on accomplished lessons, instructional pacing, learner readiness, and school context.
