GRADE 12 | TERM 1 EXAMINATION With TOS (SY 2026-2027)

The Grade 12 Term 1 Examination Materials are prepared as an end-of-term assessment resource for Senior High School teachers. They are intended to measure how well learners have developed the required knowledge, skills, and understanding throughout the first term.

For the examination coverage, priority is given to the competencies taught during Weeks 7–11. At the same time, selected critical competencies from the earlier weeks of Term 1 are incorporated to assess learners’ retention of essential concepts and their ability to connect previous learning with more recent lessons.

The content of the examinations is based on the Term 1 Budget of Work and the actual lessons taught in the classroom. This provides a closer match between instruction and assessment while allowing teachers to evaluate the competencies learners are expected to demonstrate at the end of the term.

60 Questions Per Subject

Each Grade 12 examination consists of 60 multiple-choice items. The questions are constructed with Bloom’s Taxonomy as a guide, ensuring that the assessment includes different levels of cognitive demand. Depending on the subject, learners may be asked to recall information, explain ideas, apply concepts, analyze situations, evaluate information, and exercise higher-order thinking skills.

As Grade 12 represents the final level of basic education, the assessment also aims to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate more independent reasoning, deeper comprehension, and application of subject-specific concepts.

Teachers should still examine the test items before administration and make adjustments whenever necessary. The final assessment should always reflect the competencies actually completed, the pacing of instruction, and the learning experiences of the class.
