A group of teachers is seeking to provide public school teachers with a P1,500 monthly internet allowance in order to cope up with the new setting in education amid this pandemic, especially in distance learning or even in work-related communications.
“DepEd must fund this necessity that now plays key to its mandate to deliver education,” said ACT Secretary-General Raymond Basilio.
The Alliance of Concerned Teachers or ACT believes that the Department of Education has sufficient funds to cover this proposed allowance.
According to Mr. Raymond Basilio, the current P3,500 cash allowance for teachers will not enough to cover all their teaching necessities for the whole school year. Therefore, the approval of the internet allowance is earnestly sought.
