The Grade 10 Term 1 Examination Materials provide teachers with an assessment resource for measuring learners’ achievement at the end of the first term. The tests are prepared to reflect the competencies that have been emphasized during classroom instruction while also checking important learning carried over from earlier weeks.
The examination coverage gives priority to the competencies from Weeks 7–11, together with selected critical competencies from the earlier portion of Term 1. By combining these areas, the assessment can help determine whether learners have retained foundational concepts and can use them in more complex tasks appropriate to Grade 10.
All test content is guided by the Term 1 Budget of Work and the actual lessons taught in class. This makes the materials more responsive to the expected progression of learning during the term.
50-Item Multiple-Choice Examination
Each Grade 10 subject examination contains 50 multiple-choice items. The questions are developed using Bloom’s Taxonomy to provide a range of cognitive demands, including remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, and evaluating concepts depending on the nature of the subject and competency being assessed.
Teachers may use these materials as a reference in preparing their Term 1 examinations. However, they are encouraged to check the coverage carefully and revise any item that does not correspond with the competencies actually completed, the pacing of instruction, or the needs of their learners.
