Report cards play a crucial role in the educational journey of learners. They serve as official records that summarize a student’s academic performance, attendance, and sometimes even behavior in school. By providing a snapshot of progress over a term or academic year, report cards become a bridge between teachers, students, and parents, ensuring that everyone stays informed about the learner’s development. Without them, tracking performance and setting future goals would be much more challenging.
Report cards also serve as motivational tools for learners. A good grade can inspire pride and encourage continued effort, while lower grades can serve as a wake-up call to work harder. When used constructively, the feedback on report cards motivates students to put more energy into their studies, improve their learning habits, and set higher goals for themselves.
