A welcome highlight for many is that both August holidays fall on long weekends, giving families, learners, and teachers additional opportunities to rest and spend quality time together.
August Long Weekends
August 21, 2026 (Friday) – Ninoy Aquino Day (Non-Working Holiday)
Since the holiday falls on a Friday, learners and teachers can enjoy a three-day long weekend from August 21 to 23, 2026.
August 31, 2026 (Monday) – National Heroes Day (Regular Holiday)
As this holiday falls on a Monday, it also creates another three-day long weekend, from August 29 to 31, 2026.
These extended weekends provide valuable time for rest, family activities, personal errands, and preparation for the succeeding weeks of classes.
September Wellness Breaks
To support the well-being of both learners and teachers under the three-term school calendar, the following wellness breaks are also scheduled:
- September 10–15, 2026 – Wellness Break for Learners
- September 14–15, 2026 – Wellness Break for Teachers
The learner wellness break is intended to provide students with time to recharge, reduce academic stress, and return to school refreshed. Meanwhile, teachers will also receive a dedicated two-day wellness break to promote work-life balance and support their physical and mental well-being.
Parents, learners, and school personnel are encouraged to make the most of these scheduled breaks while ensuring that learners remain prepared for the continuation of classes after the wellness period.
These dates are based on DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2026, which sets the school calendar and activities for School Year 2026–2027.
